Person
Li Bing
Li Bing was a governor of Shu under the state of Qin in the 3rd century BCE, traditionally credited with building the Dujiangyan irrigation system on the Min river near Chengdu. The system divided and channelled the river without a dam, controlling floods and irrigating the Chengdu plain, and it is still in use. He is revered in Sichuan, together with his son Erlang, at the Two Kings Temple at Dujiangyan.
