Lig Myirhya

d. c. 644 · 7th century · Also known as Ligmigya

Lig Myirhya was the last king of Zhangzhung, the kingdom of western Tibet centred on the region of Mount Kailash. The Tibetan emperor Songtsen Gampo allied with him by marrying his sister Sad mar kar to the king, but she reportedly helped her brother against her husband, and around 644 Tibet conquered Zhangzhung and killed Lig Myirhya. Zhangzhung became a province of the Tibetan Empire.
