Lough Leane

Also known as Loch Léin

Lough Leane is the largest of the Lakes of Killarney in County Kerry, south-western Ireland. In the early Middle Ages it gave its name to the Eoganacht Locha Léin, a branch of the Munster dynasties who ruled the kingdom of Iarmumu around it. Its island monastery of Inisfallen produced the Annals of Inisfallen.
