Luchuan–Pingmian campaigns
The Luchuan–Pingmian campaigns were a series of Ming Chinese military expeditions from 1436 to 1449 against the Shan state of Mong Mao, called Luchuan by the Chinese, on the south-western frontier of Yunnan. They were directed against the ruler Si Renfa, who had expanded his power at the expense of other chiefdoms. After costly fighting he fled to Ava, which eventually handed him over, and Mong Mao was broken up.
