Ludwig of Oettingen-Wallerstein

1791–1870 · 19th century

Prince Ludwig of Oettingen-Wallerstein was a Bavarian statesman who served King Ludwig I as interior minister from 1832 to 1837 and led the government again in 1847–1848, during the crisis over the king's affair with Lola Montez. He had given up the headship of his house to his brother after an unequal marriage in 1823.
