Lugus
Lugus was a god of the ancient Celts, known from inscriptions in Spain, Gaul and elsewhere, sometimes in the plural form Lugoves. His name survives in place names such as Lugdunum, modern Lyon, and he is widely linked with the Irish Lugh and the Welsh Lleu. Many scholars think he was the Gaulish god whom Caesar identified with Mercury.
