Lukiiko
The Lukiiko is the council or parliament of the Kingdom of Buganda. Originally an assembly of chiefs that advised the kabaka and heard important cases, it was recognised as the kingdom's legislature by the Buganda Agreement of 1900. In the 1950s and 1960s it was the centre of Buganda's resistance to a unitary Uganda. Abolished in 1967, it was revived with the cultural monarchy in 1993.
