Mahmud Shah Bahmani
Mahmud Shah was sultan of the Bahmani Sultanate from 1482 to 1518, coming to the throne as a boy after the death of Muhammad Shah III. Real power passed to the nobles, above all Qasim Barid at Bidar, while the provincial governors of Bijapur, Ahmadnagar, Berar and Golconda made themselves independent. By his death the sultanate had broken into the Deccan sultanates.
