Mainamati
Mainamati is a range of low hills near Comilla in eastern Bangladesh with the remains of more than fifty Buddhist sites of the 7th to 12th centuries. The best known, the Shalban Vihara, was a large monastery built by a Deva dynasty king in the 7th or 8th century, and the area flourished under the Chandra dynasty. Excavations have yielded copper plates, coins and terracotta plaques.
