Malebo Pool
Malebo Pool, formerly Stanley Pool, is a wide, lake-like stretch of the Congo River about 35 kilometres long, just above the rapids that block navigation to the sea. Kinshasa lies on its southern shore and Brazzaville on its northern, making it the meeting point of river traffic from the interior. The Tio kingdom held the plateaus to its north.
