Maravarman Kulasekara Pandya I

r. 1268–c. 1308 · 13th century

Maravarman Kulasekara Pandya I was a Pandya king of Madurai who reigned for some four decades from 1268, the height of the Later Pandyan Empire. He defeated the last Chola king, Rajendra III, and the Hoysala Ramanatha, and sent an army to Sri Lanka. His murder by his son Sundara Pandya led to a succession war that opened the way to invasion from Delhi.
