Wassaf

1265 – after 1328 · 14th century · Also known as Abdallah Wassaf, Wassaf al-Hazrat

Wassaf, Abdallah ibn Fadlallah of Shiraz, was a Persian historian and official of the Ilkhanate. His Tarikh-i Wassaf, a continuation of Juvayni's history of the Mongols, covers the Ilkhanate and neighbouring lands from 1257 to the 1320s in a highly ornate style. It includes valuable reports on south India, among them the horse trade of the Pandya kingdom and its succession war.
