Matopos Hills

Also known as Matopos

The Matopos Hills, or Matobo Hills, are a granite landscape south of Bulawayo in present-day Zimbabwe. They were the centre of the Mwari religious cult, whose oracular shrines gave ritual legitimacy to the rulers of the Rozvi Empire. The cult also served as a channel between the Changamire's court and plateau communities.
