Mbanza Loango

Also known as Buali

Mbanza Loango, also called Buali, was the capital of the Kingdom of Loango on the coast of the present-day Republic of the Congo, near Loango Bay. European visitors from the 17th century described a large town of royal enclosures and markets where the Maloango held court. The royal site lies near the modern village of Diosso, north of Pointe-Noire.
