6th century BCE · 6th century BCE

Milo of Croton was the most famous wrestler of ancient Greece, winning at the Olympic Games six times in the later 6th century BCE, as well as many victories at the other panhellenic games. Ancient writers tell many stories of his strength and link him with Pythagoras, who lived at Croton. In 510 BCE he is said to have led Croton's army to victory over Sybaris.
