Minab

Minab is a city in Hormozgan Province in southern Iran, on the Minab River near the Strait of Hormuz. It lies near the site of Old Hormuz, the mainland port and capital of the kingdom of Hormuz until around 1300, when raids drove its king to move to the island of Jarun. The area is known for its date palms and its Thursday market.
