Mincio

The Mincio is a river of northern Italy that flows out of Lake Garda at Peschiera, passes Mantua, where it widens into lakes, and joins the Po. It formed a strong defensive line, part of the Quadrilateral of Austrian fortresses in the 19th century, and was crossed in battles of the Napoleonic Wars and the Italian wars of independence.
