Mise en valeur
Mise en valeur, meaning 'development' or 'making productive', was a French colonial doctrine calling for the economic exploitation and development of colonies. It was associated particularly with the minister Albert Sarraut in the early twentieth century. It formed part of the economic thinking of the French Empire alongside the civilising mission.
