Mongoose Gang
The Mongoose Gang was a private militia used by Eric Gairy, Grenada's chief minister and then prime minister, to intimidate and attack his opponents in the 1970s. Its members beat protesters and opposition figures, including New Jewel Movement leaders such as Maurice Bishop. The gang was disbanded after the revolution of March 1979 that overthrew Gairy.
