Moscow Kremlin

The Moscow Kremlin is the fortified complex at the heart of Moscow, on a hill above the Moskva river. From the fourteenth century it was the seat of the grand princes of Moscow and later of the tsars, and under Ivan III Italian architects rebuilt its brick walls, towers and cathedrals in the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries. It is the official residence of the President of Russia.
