Mount Bischoff

Mount Bischoff is a mountain in north-western Tasmania near the town of Waratah. The prospector James 'Philosopher' Smith discovered tin there in 1871, and the Mount Bischoff mine became for a time one of the richest tin mines in the world, bringing prosperity to the colony in the late 19th century.
