Mount Mugh

Mount Mugh is a hill in the upper Zeravshan valley of Tajikistan where Divashtich, ruler of Panjikent, made his last stand against the Umayyad Arabs before his capture in 722. In 1932 a shepherd found there an archive of some eighty documents on leather, wood and paper, most in Sogdian, which are a main written source for the political life of pre-Islamic Sogdiana.
