Muara Takus

Also known as Muara Takus temple compound

Muara Takus is a Buddhist temple compound in Kampar Regency, Riau province, on the island of Sumatra in Indonesia. Within a walled enclosure stand several brick and sandstone stupas, the largest the Candi Mahligai, whose dating is debated. It is one of the main surviving monuments of the Buddhist culture associated with Srivijaya and its successors in central Sumatra.
