Muaro Jambi
Muara Jambi is a large Buddhist temple complex on the Batang Hari river east of the city of Jambi in Sumatra, Indonesia, built mainly between the seventh and thirteenth centuries. Its brick temples, ponds and canals, spread over several square kilometres, make it one of the largest ancient sites in South-East Asia, and it was probably a centre of Buddhist learning linked to the Melayu kingdom and Srivijaya.
