Muhammad VI of Granada

1332–1362 · 14th century

Muhammad VI, known to the Castilians as el Bermejo (the Red), was Nasrid emir of Granada from 1360 to 1362. He seized power by killing Ismail II, whom he had helped to depose Muhammad V. When Muhammad V returned with Castilian backing, Muhammad VI fled to Seville to seek terms from Peter I of Castile, who had him put to death in 1362.
