Muhsin ibn Fadl
Muhsin ibn Fadl al-Abdali was sultan of Lahej in southern Arabia from 1827 to 1847. In January 1839 a British East India Company force under Captain Stafford Haines captured Aden from him after disputes over a plundered ship, creating the Aden Settlement. Muhsin later accepted a British stipend, and Lahej became the leading protected state in Aden's hinterland.
