Murchison Falls
Murchison Falls is a waterfall on the Victoria Nile in north-western Uganda, where the river forces its way through a gap only a few metres wide before flowing into Lake Albert. Samuel Baker named it in 1864 after Sir Roderick Murchison, president of the Royal Geographical Society. It lies within Uganda's largest national park, and in the 1970s both were renamed after Kabalega.
