My Tho
My Tho is a city in the Mekong delta of southern Vietnam, capital of Tien Giang province, on the northern branch of the Mekong. It was founded in the late 17th century by Ming loyalist refugees from China under Duong Ngan Dich, settled there with the permission of the Nguyen lords, and grew into a major market town of the delta. In 1785 the Tay Son destroyed a Siamese army nearby at Rach Gam–Xoai Mut.
