Narni
Narni is a hill town in southern Umbria, Italy, above a gorge of the Nera river. Rome founded the colony of Narnia on the site of the Umbrian town of Nequinum in 299 BCE to guard the routes into Umbria, and the Via Flaminia later crossed the Nera there on the Bridge of Augustus, whose ruins survive. The Roman emperor Nerva was born there.
