Ngoni
The Ngoni are a Nguni-speaking people whose ancestors migrated northwards from south-eastern Africa during the upheavals of the Mfecane in the early nineteenth century. Led by Zwangendaba, Ngoni forces crossed the Zimbabwean plateau from about 1826. Their raids were among the violent pressures that brought about the collapse of the Rozvi Empire.
