Mfecane
The Mfecane was a period of widespread warfare, migration and state formation in southern Africa in the early nineteenth century, associated with the rise of the Zulu kingdom under Shaka. It sent waves of armed Nguni groups northwards across the Limpopo. Their incursions in the 1820s and 1830s contributed to the collapse of the Rozvi Empire.
