Zulu Kingdom
The Zulu Kingdom was a powerful state in south-eastern Africa built by Shaka from the 1810s onward through military reform and conquest. Its rise was associated with the Mfecane, a period of warfare and migration that spread across southern Africa. Accounts of the Rozvi Empire record that Nguni-speaking groups displaced by these upheavals invaded the Zimbabwean plateau and destroyed the Rozvi state.
