Incwala

Also known as Incwala ceremony

Incwala is the most important national ceremony of the Swazi Kingdom (Eswatini), held each year around the summer solstice in December and January. Over several weeks the king, regiments and people take part in rites in which the king tastes the first fruits of the harvest, and the ceremony renews the sacred kingship and the unity of the nation.
