Mozambique
Mozambique is a country on the coast of south-eastern Africa. The Portuguese established trading posts on its coast from the early sixteenth century and pushed inland along the Zambezi, interacting with and undermining the Mutapa Empire. Mozambique remained a Portuguese colony until independence in 1975 after a long war, one of the last parts of the Portuguese Empire.
