Nur ibn Mujahid

r. 1550–1567 · 16th century

Nur ibn Mujahid was a ruler of the Adal Sultanate from 1550 to 1567, following the death of Imam Ahmad ibn Ibrahim. He governed from Harar and built its defensive wall, the Jugol. He could not restore the institutional coherence of Ahmad's state, and Adal was reduced to a regional power conducting annual raids.
