Nur Mountains
The Nur Mountains, the ancient Amanus, are a range in southern Turkey running north-east from the Mediterranean coast near İskenderun and separating Cilicia from northern Syria. Their passes, the Syrian and Amanian Gates, carried the main routes between Anatolia and the Levant, and in the Iron Age the kingdom of Sam'al lay in the valley to their east.
