Mark Antony

Mark Antony was a Roman general and politician, an ally of Julius Caesar and later a member of the Second Triumvirate. His alliance and relationship with Cleopatra VII bound him to the Ptolemaic Empire. Their defeat by Octavian at Actium in 31 BCE led to the annexation of Egypt and Octavian's establishment of the Roman Empire.
