Nyakunembire
Nyakunembire was a dissident claimant within the Mutapa state in the late seventeenth century. He appealed to Changamire Dombo for support against his rivals and their Portuguese allies. Dombo's response in 1693 led to the destruction of the Portuguese settlement at Dambarare and the expulsion of the Portuguese from the plateau, a decisive success of the Rozvi Empire.
