Nyamutukura Kyebambe III

late 18th–early 19th century · 19th century

Nyamutukura Kyebambe III was omukama of Bunyoro in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. Near the end of his reign, around 1830, his son Prince Kaboyo Olimi broke away to found the Kingdom of Toro, taking rich pastures and the salt lakes of the south-west. The secession marked the decline of Bunyoro before its revival under Kabalega.
