Óbuda
Óbuda is the oldest part of Budapest, on the west bank of the Danube north of Buda. It stands on the site of Aquincum, capital of the Roman province of Pannonia Inferior, whose ruins survive there. In the Middle Ages it was a royal residence and the seat of a short-lived university founded in 1395. In 1873 it was united with Buda and Pest to form Budapest.
