Obwalden

Obwalden is a canton of central Switzerland south of Lake Lucerne, with its capital at Sarnen. With Nidwalden it formed Unterwalden, one of the three founding members of the Old Swiss Confederacy in 1291, and each half governed itself through its own assembly. The territory of Engelberg Abbey was added to Obwalden in 1815.
