Oichi

1547–1583 · 16th century · Also known as Oichi no Kata

Oichi was a younger sister of Oda Nobunaga, married to Azai Nagamasa around 1567 to secure their alliance. After Nobunaga destroyed the Azai in 1573 she returned to the Oda with her three daughters, Chacha, Ohatsu and Go. She later married Shibata Katsuie and died with him when Toyotomi Hideyoshi besieged Kitanoshō castle in 1583.
