O'Malley clan
The O'Malleys (Ó Máille) were a Gaelic seafaring lineage of Umall, around Clew Bay in County Mayo, western Ireland. Unusual among Irish lords for their fleets, they fished, traded and raided along the Atlantic coast and paid dues to the Mac William Burkes. The best-known member was Grace O'Malley, the 16th-century sea captain who met Elizabeth I in 1593.
