Pallene
Pallene, now Kassandra, is the westernmost of the three peninsulas of Chalcidice in northern Greece. Potidaea, a Corinthian colony, stood on its narrow isthmus and controlled access to its cities, among them Mende, Scione and Aphytis. In 316 BCE Cassander founded Cassandreia on the site of Potidaea, giving the peninsula its modern name.
