Parliament of Friuli
The Parliament of Friuli was the representative assembly of the Patria del Friuli, the state of the patriarchs of Aquileia, documented from the 13th century. It brought together representatives of the clergy, the nobility and the towns, voted taxes and troops and shared in legislation and government with the patriarch. It survived, with reduced powers, under Venetian rule from 1420 until the end of the Republic of Venice.
