Paxbolonacha
Paxbolonacha was the ruler of Acalan, the Chontal Maya state on the Candelaria river, when Hernán Cortés passed through on his march to Honduras in 1525. During that visit the captive Aztec ruler Cuauhtémoc was executed in Acalan's territory. Paxbolonacha later accepted Spanish rule, and his dynasty is recorded in the Chontal text of the Paxbolon-Maldonado Papers.
