Perak River
The Perak River is the second-longest river of Peninsular Malaysia, flowing about 400 kilometres south from the mountains near the Thai border through the state of Perak to the Strait of Malacca. Its valley was the heartland of the Perak Sultanate, whose royal towns, including Kuala Kangsar, stood on its banks. The river carried the region's tin and other trade to the coast.
