Peuce
Peuce was an island in the Danube delta known to Greek and Roman writers, named after its pine trees and lying between the river's arms in modern Romania. In 335 BCE the Triballian king Syrmus took refuge there when Alexander the Great campaigned on the Danube, and a branch of the Bastarnae, the Peucini, took its name from it.
