Pierre Boisson
Pierre Boisson was a French colonial administrator who, as governor-general of French West Africa from 1940, kept the federation loyal to the Vichy regime and repelled the British and Free French attack on Dakar in September 1940. After the Allied landings in North Africa in November 1942 he brought the federation over to the Allies, but he was dismissed in 1943 and died in detention in 1948.
