Pomerania-Wolgast

Also known as Duchy of Pomerania-Wolgast

Pomerania-Wolgast was a partition of the Duchy of Pomerania, created in 1295 for Bogislaw IV and ruled by Griffin dukes from Wolgast. It covered the coastal lands north of the Peene, with Hanseatic towns such as Stralsund and Greifswald, and was itself divided several times. It was finally united with Pomerania-Stettin in 1625, when Philip Julius died and Bogislaw XIV inherited it.
